Project Leader Elastic Sealants & Adhesives

About the role

Sika, a specialty chemicals company active in bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protecting in the building sector and industrial manufacturing, is looking for a Project Leader in its Zurich R&D department for Adhesive Systems. The role sits at the interface of research, production, quality assurance, marketing and application engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Independently develop products, technologies and their manufacturing processes, and drive their internal and external implementation
• Lead project teams, define and call for work packages, ensure transfer of know-how and coordinate activities
• Work with internal and external interface functions and manage customer and stakeholder expectations
• Provide technical support for products and technologies internally and to customers
• Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art technology such as competitive products, specialised literature, congresses and patents
• Plan and document according to process guidelines, prepare presentations and defend results internally and externally
• Patent new technologies and initiate proceedings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field
• Initial experience in R&D as a Junior Scientist, Product Developer, Project Leader or similar, with expertise in product or technology development
• Previous experience in adhesives or related industries with deep market and technology knowledge is a plus
• Strong understanding of project management principles and ability to manage tasks and priorities
• Analytical, solution-oriented mindset and ability to build internal networks and foster teamwork
• Proficiency in English; good knowledge of German
