Senior Software Engineer – Mobile Apps (Kotlin Multiplatform)

About the role

ABB is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of cross‑platform mobile applications within its Digital Agile Unit. You will work on cutting‑edge products that combine IoT, cloud services, and data management, applying AI‑assisted programming and strict cybersecurity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop mobile apps using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) and Compose Multiplatform, ensuring native performance on Android and iOS.
• Champion AI‑driven productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot and agentic workflows for code generation, testing, and documentation.
• Integrate applications with smart devices via Bluetooth LE, MQTT, and other IoT protocols.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, collaborate with UX/UI, test, and hardware teams.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for automated testing and releases.
• Apply modern architectural patterns (MVI/MVVM, Clean Architecture) and dependency injection frameworks (Koin, Dagger).
• Enforce security throughout the development lifecycle using ABB’s Secure Development Lifecycle, static analysis tools, and compliance checks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cross‑platform mobile development with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose.
• Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and secure coding standards.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
