Senior Software Engineer – Surgical Robotics

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a small, multidisciplinary team developing a complete surgical robotic system. The role is hands‑on, deadline‑driven and requires close collaboration with clinicians and hardware engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop front‑end and middle‑tier software components for medical devices.
• Manage work packages, ensuring compliance with version control, toolchains, documentation standards and quality systems.
• Lead software development activities and support the engineering team.
• Participate in design verification and validation to meet regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain Design History File (DHF) documentation and assist with regulatory submissions.
• Attend surgical procedures to understand clinical workflows and end‑user needs.

Required profile

• Proactive, autonomous mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years or Master’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a fast‑growing, international environment.
• Experience in the medical device or life‑sciences industry is a plus.
• Fluent in English; French proficiency or willingness to improve is required.
• Willingness to relocate to Lausanne, Switzerland.

Required skills

• Object‑oriented development in C++ (C++17 or later).
• Knowledge of Rust (asset).
• Experience with Qt and QML frameworks.
• Web application development experience.
• Test‑Driven Development (TDD) methodology.
