Associate Programme Officer – Organizational Excellence & Ecosystems

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) is looking for an Associate Programme Officer to support its Institutions and Ecosystems Section within the Division of Enterprise Competitiveness and Institutions. Based in Geneva, the role contributes to the design, implementation and evaluation of programmes that strengthen business support organisations and promote sustainable development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Work with client organisations to develop, implement and evaluate assigned programmes and projects, monitoring progress and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in consulting assignments by planning and facilitating workshops, interactive sessions and drafting action plans.
• Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analytical notes, report sections and inputs for publications.
• Support the development of institutional networks and share best practices.
• Provide administrative and substantive support for meetings, conferences and consultative events, including agenda setting, participant identification and logistics.
• Participate in outreach activities, training workshops and make presentations on assigned topics.
• Contribute to field missions by collecting data and offering both substantive and logistical assistance.
• Coordinate budget‑related activities, including programme preparation, progress reporting and financial statement preparation.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., international development, economics, business administration or related field).
• Experience in programme or project management, preferably within an international or development context.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to produce high‑quality written material.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
