Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

Sonar is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to join its platform engineering squad in Geneva. You will design, develop, and operate highly scalable cloud solutions on AWS, helping to automate operations and improve service quality for AI‑enabled software development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and operate cloud solutions on AWS with a focus on automation, performance, scalability and cost‑efficiency.
• Define novel cloud solution designs and lead their implementation.
• Collaborate in cross‑functional sprints with backend, frontend, SRE and other engineers to deliver new features.
• Work with Product Development and Mission Control squads to ensure solutions integrate with the Sonar platform.
• Maintain service quality by defining SLOs, investigating alarms and responding to incidents.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience architecting, developing and operating AWS‑based web/API applications.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS networking and core services such as CloudFront, CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS and SQS.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK (preferred), CloudFormation or Terraform/OpenTofu.
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C#) and a scripting language (Bash).
• On‑call experience for global services and a strong DevOps mindset.
