Commercial Training Manager – Austria & Switzerland

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Commercial Training Manager to lead the training strategy for its Diabetes Care division across Austria and Switzerland. The role is field‑based and focuses on developing and delivering high‑impact learning programs for the commercial organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy for the Diabetes Care commercial team in Austria and Switzerland.
• Align training initiatives with the commercial leadership team and the EMEA training organization.
• Identify training needs across the commercial organization and design curricula using modern adult‑learning methodologies.
• Organise and deliver both virtual and face‑to‑face training sessions, adapting content to varying knowledge levels and language capabilities.
• Conduct regular knowledge checks and establish feedback loops to continuously improve training effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven track record in adult education within a commercial environment.
• Fluent in German, French and English.
• University degree or equivalent executive training in adult education or coaching.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical‑technology industry.
• Willingness to travel flexibly across Europe (approximately 30 % of the time).

Required skills

• Experience with state‑of‑the‑art training tools.
• Familiarity with Allego (plus).
• Proficiency in delivering webinars, podcasts, video‑on‑demand content and virtual quizzes.
