Financial Business Controller – Group Controlling (Geneva)

About the role

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is seeking a Financial Business Controller to join its Group Controlling department in Geneva. The role supports MSC Cargo’s operations across a defined set of countries, providing financial insight, cost control and strategic analysis to drive business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Improve working capital management and identify revenue and cost optimisation opportunities.
• Perform cost‑control activities and review weekly/monthly financial reporting.
• Assist the Regional CFO with daily management of assigned countries and coordinate country visits.
• Analyse foreign‑exchange exposure and lead ad‑hoc global analyses in collaboration with regional teams.
• Contribute to finance transformation initiatives to enhance management information.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, controlling, audit or FP&A, preferably within shipping or logistics.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
• Self‑starter, proactive and results‑oriented, with excellent communication skills in English.
• EU citizenship or a valid Swiss work permit.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with SAP.
