Internship in Trade Law, Business Environment & AI

About the role

The International Trade Centre (ITC) seeks motivated interns to support its work on trade law, business environment and artificial intelligence. You will assist in developing tools and analyses that help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) internationalise and inform decision‑makers on trade treaties.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyse strategic legal and regulatory reforms at national, regional and international levels to improve the business environment.
• Assist in refining a model methodology for analysing legal instruments and applying AI to assess treaties, model laws and regulations.
• Support the definition, testing and documentation of AI‑driven models for trade‑treaty analysis, provision drafting, categorisation and recommendation generation.
• Contribute to the development of AI‑based models for analysing commercial contracts and automating contract processes.

Required profile

• Current student or recent graduate in law, international trade, economics, data science or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to conduct independent research.
• Interest in the intersection of trade policy, legal frameworks and emerging technologies.
