Lead Auditor – Banking Risk & Compliance

About the role

As a Lead Auditor at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you will oversee end‑to‑end audits across a wide range of risk topics, including financial crime, business conduct and emerging regulatory areas. You will work independently, plan audit cycles, engage with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor for local management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and report on audits from scoping to final delivery.
• Draft clear, impactful audit reports and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and follow‑up on risk mitigation.
• Serve as the primary audit contact for Panama and Bahamas locations, handling annual risk assessments and activity planning.
• Participate in special investigations, projects and act as a subject‑matter expert.

Required profile

• Banking apprenticeship, certified bank professional or higher business education (university or university of applied sciences).
• Relevant certifications such as CIA, CFA; CPA is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Auditor in banking (internal or external).
• Strong analytical ability, high integrity and accountability.
• Willingness to travel abroad approximately 30 days per year.
• Fluent English with excellent written communication; German, French or Spanish are advantageous.
