Platform Manager

About the role

Sandmark is seeking an experienced Platform Manager from the news and media sector to own the health, performance and evolution of its digital media platform. You will drive front‑end user journeys, implement new features and provide strategic guidance to ensure the platform scales with rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high performance, functionality and accessibility across devices for internal and external users.
• Set up monitoring and alerts for technical SEO metrics such as Core Web Vitals, load speed, errors and caching issues.
• Monitor publishing and editor capabilities, proactively flag bugs and regressions, and communicate with technical teams.
• Track and report platform KPIs (traffic, engagement, time on site, articles read, indexing health).
• Manage non‑editorial pages, landing pages, evergreen sections and corporate content.
• Ensure best practices for site structure, metadata and discoverability (SEO & AEO).
• Analyse customer needs and market trends to inform product development.
• Coordinate with UI/UX and technical teams to deliver new features and modules.
• Serve as the central point for enhancement requests and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing digital platforms in the news or media industry.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify friction points before they affect users.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Required skills

• Technical SEO knowledge, including Core Web Vitals.
• Web performance monitoring and alerting tools.
• Experience with analytics and KPI tracking for content platforms.
• Familiarity with content management systems and website architecture.
