Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

LocalStack is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve its internal cloud infrastructure. You will be the primary point of contact for cloud operations, ensuring security, compliance, and cost‑effectiveness across a multi‑account environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate, and continuously improve a multi‑account AWS environment, applying best‑practice governance, security, and compliance.
• Maintain SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliance by preparing audit evidence on an ongoing basis.
• Manage identity and access management, including SSO, MFA, permission policies, and joiner/mover/leaver processes.
• Monitor and support self‑hosted internal services, tracking service‑level agreements and vulnerability remediation.
• Implement continuous security posture management and proactive risk identification.
• Own infrastructure cost management, helping teams identify cost or reliability risks early.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to boost reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of the cloud platform.

Required profile

• Deep, organization‑level experience with AWS services and governance tools.
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with a focus on modular design, state management, and promotion across environments.
• Hands‑on experience securing cloud environments and supporting compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and partner with cross‑functional engineering teams.
