Senior Legal Counsel – Data Privacy & Technology

About the role

Partners Group is looking for a dynamic (Senior) Legal Counsel to shape its data privacy and technology law strategy across global operations, with a focus on Europe and the GDPR. The role combines strategic advisory, compliance leadership and hands‑on contract work, offering exposure to high‑impact projects and the chance to drive meaningful change.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior management and stakeholders on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity and technology law.
• Lead and continuously improve GDPR compliance and related frameworks, identifying emerging risks.
• Negotiate and draft commercial agreements, including MSAs, tech and HR contracts, DPAs and TIAs.
• Build and maintain global data protection governance – policies, procedures and templates.
• Manage legal response to data breaches and data subject requests, coordinating with relevant functions.
• Design and deliver privacy training to foster a privacy‑by‑design culture.
• Oversee external counsel and act as primary contact for regulators when required.

Required profile

• Law degree with bar admission (Swiss bar a plus).
• 4–10 years of relevant experience in an international law firm or in‑house role, preferably in financial services or tech.
• Strong, hands‑on knowledge of GDPR and privacy risk management.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate technology and commercial contracts with privacy provisions.
• Confident judgment under pressure, especially during incident response.
• Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
• Fluent English; German is an advantage.
