Senior Software Engineer (Backend, AI-powered Platform)

About the role

This fully remote position is for a senior backend‑focused engineer who will help build and scale an AI‑powered platform that processes real‑time data at massive scale. You will work with a distributed engineering team to design high‑performance microservices and contribute to the overall system architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise highly concurrent backend systems for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Architect and implement core microservices that support real‑time, large‑scale applications.
• Scale platform capabilities from small deployments to high‑traffic venues.
• Collaborate with product managers, application developers and deployment engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Partner with infrastructure teams to streamline releases and ensure efficient delivery.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, code quality, testing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience with event‑driven or real‑time distributed systems.
• Previous work in e‑commerce, payment or transaction‑heavy environments is a plus.
