Senior Software Engineer - Edge Vision Platform

About the role

Genius Sports is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Edge Computing team within the Data&AI group. The role focuses on the Vision platform, which combines iOS camera applications deployed in sport venues with backend services that process video and run computer‑vision algorithms at the edge.

Key responsibilities

• Design and code backend services and iOS camera application capabilities that support the Vision platform worldwide.
• Build end‑to‑end processes that enable operational staff to autonomously deploy, monitor and diagnose video capture devices and services.
• Take ownership of long‑term technical efforts and clearly articulate design choices to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Collaborate closely with teammates to solve problems, share knowledge and provide actionable feedback.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation focused on eliminating repeat escalations.
• Work from the Lausanne office four days a week with flexible hours.

Required profile

• Swiss/EU/EFTA citizenship or residency permit in Switzerland.
• 5+ years of experience as a backend or software engineer.
• Proficiency in at least one of Rust, Swift or Go.
• Strong experience designing, implementing and operating complex HTTP and WebSocket services at scale.
• Solid background in concurrent programming.
• Ability to communicate efficiently and tailor concepts to different audiences.
