Senior Supply Planning Analyst – Outbound Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Supply Planning Analyst to support and ensure effective execution of logistics planning and performance for outbound operations in Europe. The role coordinates the movement of commercial nickel products valued at USD 1.0‑1.2 billion from refineries in Japan, the UK, Brazil and Canada to domestic and international customers, ensuring timely delivery, cost‑effective transportation and high service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement weekly, monthly and yearly outbound logistics plans for nickel products.
• Coordinate with production, sales and warehouse teams to align shipping schedules with customer requirements.
• Manage short‑term planning, vessel fixing and execution of the shipping schedule.
• Collaborate with plants, regional marketing units and global logistics providers to ensure cargo readiness, quality, packing, labeling and weighting.
• Serve as primary escalation point for operational issues raised by internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyse carrier and third‑party vendor performance metrics, including delivery times and costs.
• Provide a resource link between carriers and customers, advising on contractual terms and optimal shipping routes.
• Track shipping schedules, update systems, and mitigate vessel slippage risks.
• Contribute technical input to commercial strategy formulation for the product group.
• Identify improvement opportunities, implement cost‑reduction and complexity‑reduction initiatives.
• Perform financial reconciliation of freight activities, capture costs, process invoices and payments.
• Utilize SAP and data‑analysis tools to track shipments, analyse logistics data and advise management.
• Ensure outbound shipments comply with regulations and company policies.
• Stay informed on industry trends and recommend process enhancements.

Required profile

• University degree in Supply Chain, International Trade or equivalent.
• 8‑15 years of experience in supply planning, logistics or transportation management.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively across multicultural and complex environments.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA (SD module).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with BusinessObjects/BI and Copilot Agents.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
