Software Engineer – ATM Surveillance Data Processing

About the role

We are hiring a Software Engineer to strengthen our client’s team in Geneva, focusing on modernising mission‑critical Air Traffic Management (ATM) surveillance systems. You will work in an Agile, highly regulated environment, transforming legacy applications into a modern service‑oriented architecture while ensuring reliability, quality and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the modernisation and decomposition of a large‑scale legacy system supporting ATM surveillance operations.
• Design, develop and maintain reliable, high‑availability back‑end solutions using Java and modern software engineering practices.
• Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD) throughout the development lifecycle.
• Build and maintain automated testing solutions, particularly using Java and Cucumber.
• Analyse operational and user requirements and translate them into clear software requirements and technical solutions.
• Produce and maintain engineering documentation and participate in verification and validation activities, including FAT and SAT.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Aeronautics or a comparable field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience developing complex software systems.
• Experience in regulated or safety‑critical environments with knowledge of requirements engineering, verification and validation.
• Professional fluency in English (minimum C1); French or German is a plus.
