About the role
We are seeking a motivated and results‑oriented Transportation Operations Manager to lead global shipment activities for an international client based in Baden. The role combines strategic planning, compliance handling, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure efficient and cost‑effective transport of critical materials.
Key responsibilities
- Organise, monitor and manage worldwide shipments across air, ocean, road and courier modes.
- Plan, book and supervise critical material shipments, selecting the most appropriate and cost‑effective methods.
- Prepare and process complex trade documentation such as legalisations, Letters of Credit, ATA Carnets and insurance certificates using ERP systems.
- Review transport quotes, audit freight invoices and identify cost‑optimisation opportunities.
- Act as the primary liaison with internal stakeholders (SCM, Planning, Engineering, QA, Finance) and external logistics providers.
- Lead transportation projects, develop emergency backup plans and resolve complex logistics challenges.
- Coach junior logistics professionals and review their work.
Required profile
- Completed commercial education (Kaufmännische Ausbildung) at minimum; advanced degrees or certifications in transport, trade or logistics are a plus.
- Several years of senior‑level experience in transportation or logistics (equivalent to P3 level).
- Deep knowledge of freight forwarding, export control regulations and rules of origin.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset, high initiative and ability to work independently.
- Fluent German and English (minimum B2); French or Italian advantageous.
