Benefits Assistant (G5)

About the role

The Benefits Assistant (G5) provides essential support to the Client Services Unit of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) in Geneva. Working under the Benefits Officer, the incumbent assists pension participants and retirees with queries on participation, separation, and benefit entitlements, ensuring accurate application of the Fund’s regulations and pension adjustment system.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to client inquiries regarding pension benefits, eligibility, and payment processes.
• Assist in the interpretation and application of UNJSPF regulations, rules, and the Pension Adjustment System.
• Support the Benefits Officer in preparing benefit calculations and documentation.
• Maintain accurate client records and update the pension administration system.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Geneva, New York, Bangkok, and Nairobi to ensure consistent service delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification in finance, administration, or a related field.
• Experience in benefits administration, pension schemes, or client‑service environments.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional UN languages are an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international setting.
