Legal Counsel, Group Dispute Resolution (GDR)

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Group Dispute Resolution (GDR) team within BNP Paribas’ Legal department in Geneva. The role is permanent, based in our Lancy‑Pont‑Rouge office and requires Swiss residency at start.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate civil pre‑litigation and litigation matters, including administrative and criminal proceedings, for the bank’s CIB and WM businesses.
• Develop defence strategies together with internal stakeholders and external counsel and advise on litigation risk.
• Handle requests from judicial and administrative authorities and participate in Group committees on managed litigation.
• Provide legal advisory on contracts, regulatory compliance, anti‑money‑laundering and sanctions, and draft related policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bar admission (brevet d’avocat) – preferably with an LL.M or equivalent postgraduate degree.
• Minimum six years of litigation experience in civil, commercial or criminal matters within banking institutions or a law firm serving the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of financing and financial products, and fluency in French and English (German a plus).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, international environment and to lead meetings, seminars or training sessions.
