Principal Engineer – Digital Design (Wireless & UWB)

About the role

As a Principal Engineer in Digital Design you will lead the development of cutting‑edge wireless communication solutions. You will translate complex signal‑processing concepts into silicon‑ready RTL and drive the complete digital design flow from algorithm to tape‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Own the digital design flow for advanced wireless and UWB projects.
• Convert custom signal‑processing algorithms from MATLAB to RTL (SystemVerilog/VHDL).
• Evaluate performance trade‑offs, propose improvements and optimise power, timing and area.
• Perform simulations, synthesis, timing and power analysis.
• Collaborate with verification, system, analog, and application engineering teams as well as external partners.
• Document specifications, architectural decisions and share knowledge across teams.
• Support silicon validation, ensure production release and continuously improve IPs and design methodologies.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on a daily basis.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ASIC RTL‑to‑GDS flow, with strong VHDL debugging and SystemVerilog coding skills.
• Proven experience in hardware‑level digital signal processing, preferably for wireless communications.
• Strong initiative, curiosity and ability to work autonomously in interdisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
