Project Engineer – Industrial Investment Projects

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead the conception, funding and execution of industrial investment projects that directly impact production performance. Working in a GMP‑regulated environment, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all functional and performance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and monitor industrial investment projects affecting production operations.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments and cost estimates for new equipment or modifications.
• Perform or oversee process engineering calculations and identify plant optimisation opportunities.
• Track project budgets, schedules and technical performance to guarantee successful delivery.
• Prepare capital investment requests and manage allocated resources efficiently.
• Identify, select and coordinate internal and external resources required for project execution.
• Coordinate technical stakeholders within a matrix organisation and ensure clear communication across departments.
• Support production change planning, new product launches and ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, safety and GMP standards.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Biotechnology or related field).
• 3–10 years of experience managing technical projects in a GMP‑regulated environment.
• Experience handling industrial investment projects ranging from CHF 10,000 to CHF 200,000.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering, plant optimisation and project management.
• Good understanding of industrial, financial and organisational processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.
