Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to join AlpineAI, a company building a Large Language Model platform on Swiss‑based infrastructure. You will report directly to the CTO, own end‑to‑end delivery of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code and on‑call operations, and shape the platform that runs on hardware we own in Switzerland.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers to build reliable, scalable development pipelines and ensure continuous automated releases.
• Coach frontend and backend engineers to monitor their code in a live environment.
• Lead discussions on scalable architecture, considering financial, security and operational trade‑offs.
• Manage, monitor and strategically scale infrastructure from Kubernetes clusters to underlying hardware.
• Maintain meticulous documentation on deployments, processes and essential tools.
• Ensure system reliability, availability and performance, even during unexpected challenges.
• Share on‑call duty with the team.

Required profile

• Solid production experience with containers and Kubernetes, using GitOps‑style delivery.
• Comfort managing secrets and access as code (e.g., SOPS, Vault) with a least‑privilege mindset.
• Experience operating stateful workloads such as relational databases, caches and message queues.
• Practical view of observability and ability to help engineers debug their services.
• Robust scripting skills and fluency in a language such as Python, TypeScript or a JVM language.
• Analytical problem‑solving mindset with at least four years of on‑call experience.
• Fluent in German and English.
