Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Nozomi Networks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the architecture, scalability, and evolution of its AI‑powered OT/IoT cybersecurity platform. You will operate at both technical leadership and hands‑on levels, driving complex initiatives across teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of distributed systems powering the OT/IoT security platform.
• Drive architecture decisions with a long‑term view on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Own cross‑team initiatives, aligning engineering work with product and business priorities.
• Identify and reduce technical debt to improve reliability and developer productivity.
• Mentor engineers, raise standards for design, code quality, and operational excellence.
• Define and champion best practices in software design, testing, and observability.
• Collaborate with Product, SRE, and Security teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Take ownership of mission‑critical features from concept through production and beyond.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and building large‑scale distributed systems in production.
• Strong expertise in at least one core language (Golang, C++, Python, or Ruby).
• Proven technical leadership beyond a single team.
• Deep understanding of system design, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience with modern backend architectures, APIs, and service‑oriented systems.
• Ability to work in high‑trust, high‑confidentiality environments.
