AI Learning Associate (Traineeship)

About the role

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is running a 12-month traineeship in Geneva to help its staff upskill in artificial intelligence. The AI Learning Associate contributes to the design, testing and organization of AI learning activities for all staff, curates learning resources and works with delegations on their local learning plans. The traineeship starts in January 2027 and is open to candidates with a maximum of two years of professional experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test and organize AI learning activities such as webinars, e-learning modules, workshops and reverse mentoring.
• Curate publicly available learning resources to keep the digital skills learning channel up to date.
• Support moderation of the AI community and maintain other knowledge management systems.
• Work with delegations to support their local learning plans.
• Help design personalized learning recommendations based on user profiles, skills and competencies, and analyze user needs and usage patterns.
• Prototype, document and test AI-supported learning solutions with Learning & Development, IT and other stakeholders.
• Follow up on work-related messages and understand field and operational objectives.

Required profile

• University degree in Learning Technologies, Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.
• Up to 2 years of professional experience, with no more than one year in a full-time paid position after studies.
• Excellent command of English and French; Spanish is an asset.
• Experience with advanced use of AI tools and prompt engineering, including using AI to support learning activities.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, stakeholder management in a multicultural setting, and motivation by humanitarian work.

What we offer

• 100% activity rate, 12-month assignment starting January 2027.
• Gross monthly salary of CHF 3,934 paid in 13 installments.
