Electrical Design Engineer – Avionic & Cabin Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist aerospace programme in Basel. The role focuses on creating and developing wiring diagrams and system schematics for avionic and cabin applications within a highly technical aviation environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and modify electrical wiring diagrams for avionic and cabin systems.
• Develop electrical schematics and interconnection drawings using CAD/EDA tools.
• Support system integration across electrical and electronic aircraft subsystems.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical safety and aerospace standards.
• Assist with PCB and electronic circuit design when required.
• Provide embedded software or scripting support linked to hardware functionality.
• Produce technical documentation, engineering reports, and design records.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, production, and project teams.
• Support project planning and deliver technical milestones throughout the programme lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong background in electrical design and wiring diagram creation.
• Experience with avionic or aircraft cabin systems.
• Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics.
• Understanding of electrical safety and compliance requirements.
• Basic to intermediate programming or firmware knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative engineering environment.
