About the role

The Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization through its next phase of impact, innovation, and sustainable growth. This senior position will translate DNDi’s strategy into results, strengthen scientific and public‑health impact, and shape the future of research and development for neglected populations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and evolution of DNDi’s strategy, aligning scientific priorities with organizational capacity and financial resources.
• Guide assessment of new disease and drug development opportunities and oversee management of key organizational risks.
• Direct the Executive Team, fostering accountability, collaboration, performance, and effective decision‑making across functions and regions.
• Ensure scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, strong financial stewardship, and effective people and organizational management.
• Represent DNDi globally and build strategic partnerships with governments, international organisations, research institutions, industry, civil society, and donors.
• Safeguard long‑term financial sustainability through fundraising, donor engagement, and funding diversification.

Required profile

• Purpose‑driven leader with extensive senior executive experience (minimum 15 years) in global health, non‑profit, or research organisations.
• Proven track record of strategic leadership, partnership building, and advocacy for neglected diseases.
• Demonstrated ability to secure funding and manage complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
