General Manager

About the role

Etihad Airways is seeking a General Manager to lead sales strategy and execution across a multi‑country cluster in Central Europe. Based in Zurich, you will drive revenue growth, manage country and sales managers, and ensure alignment with the airline’s global objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement sales strategies, targets and channel plans for Switzerland, Austria, Czechia, and Poland.
• Lead a team of country managers and sales managers to achieve revenue and market‑share goals.
• Develop and monitor sales KPIs, dashboards and corrective actions.
• Build and maintain relationships with travel agencies, corporate clients, governmental authorities and Etihad partners.
• Negotiate contracts, oversee compliance with local regulations, and manage joint negotiations with partners.
• Design and cascade sales incentive schemes and ensure timely payout.
• Coach and develop the managerial team to enhance leadership and professional skills.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in sales or commercial leadership, preferably in aviation or travel.
• Fluent in German and French.
• Legal right to live and work in Switzerland (EU or Swiss citizenship).
• Willingness to travel regularly across the assigned region.
