Junior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join a well‑established Swiss banking institution. This position offers exposure to complex banking, regulatory and cross‑border legal matters within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on Swiss banking, financial services, AML and regulatory issues, working closely with business and control functions.
• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including client agreements, outsourcing, IT, vendor and confidentiality agreements.
• Handle requests from regulatory, judicial and administrative authorities, and support suspicious activity reporting, investigations and regulatory enquiries.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assist with the implementation of new regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
• Support litigation, sanctions, cross‑border matters and strategic legal transformation initiatives.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Swiss Law; Swiss Bar admission is a plus.
• Less than 2 years of experience in a Swiss law firm, private bank or regulated financial institution.
• Strong understanding of Swiss banking and financial regulations and the operational environment of financial institutions.
• Fluent in French and English; German and/or Italian are assets.
• Analytical, pragmatic and detail‑oriented with excellent judgement and discretion.
• Hands‑on, proactive and solutions‑oriented professional who enjoys working cross‑functionally.
