Laboratory Technician – Process Development & Small-Scale Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Technician to join a leading pharmaceutical company's Process Development team in Basel. The role supports chemical process development, scale‑up, and small‑scale manufacturing activities in a fast‑paced, scientifically driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments for chemical process development and manufacturing.
• Generate, analyse and document experimental data for project teams and manufacturing sites.
• Support pilot‑scale campaigns, process transfers and GMP/non‑GMP production.
• Maintain electronic laboratory records in compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
• Ensure HSE, GxP and regulatory compliance throughout all activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, analytical instruments and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with process chemists and cross‑functional teams to optimise processes and troubleshoot issues.

Required profile

• Completed apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent scientific technical qualification.
• Practical experience in synthetic chemistry, process development and scale‑up.
• Good working knowledge of German and strong written and spoken English.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with HPLC, GC and NMR instrumentation.
• Familiarity with EasyMax, Flexy and ALR synthesis equipment.
• Experience with laboratory automation and analytical systems.
