Process Design Engineer – Pharma & Life Sciences

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Process Design Engineer to lead the design, planning and delivery of advanced pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing facilities. You will work on projects ranging from early concept development to commissioning and qualification of Biotech, OSD, secondary manufacturing and Cell & Gene Therapy plants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the design, planning and coordination of pharmaceutical process facilities.
• Develop core process documentation such as User Requirement Specifications (URS), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs and perform mass and energy balances.
• Prepare tender documents and assist in bid evaluations.
• Coordinate with vendors after award to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide support during construction, commissioning and qualification phases.
• Contribute to investment cost estimates and project budgeting.

Required profile

• Degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering, Biotechnology, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical plant design and engineering.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical production technologies.
• Fluent in English and German and/or French.
• Willingness to travel as required.
