M&A Consultant (Senior) – Financial Services

About the role

EY's Transactions Corporate Finance (TCF) department, which covers M&A advisory, transaction diligence and valuation, modeling and economics, is looking to strengthen its growing team in Zurich. As part of one of the leading mid-market M&A teams in Switzerland, Europe and globally, you will work on high-profile sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions in the financial services sector, with hands-on experience across the full deal lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review transaction deliverables such as information memoranda, teasers, process materials and management presentations.
• Build and review financial models and valuations using market multiples, precedent transactions, DCF analyses and other methods.
• Support and execute M&A transactions from origination through closing, coordinating with clients, lawyers and other stakeholders.
• Carry out industry, market and company analyses, and develop target identification and buyer screening lists.
• Take part in due diligence, identify key findings and turn them into recommendations.
• Handle several projects and workstreams at once, and support business development, including pitch preparation and proposals.

Required profile

• Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience, ideally in M&A, corporate finance, investment banking, deal advisory or private equity.
• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, valuation, due diligence and stakeholder management.
• Ability to handle several transactions in parallel and to communicate with clients and buyers.
• Excellent written and spoken English and German; French is a strong asset.
