Mechanical Construction Manager

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead large‑scale engineering and construction projects in Zurich. The role involves overseeing design, construction, commissioning and profitability while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present project reports and cost projections.
• Manage design consultants, building contractors and site construction processes.
• Plan and allocate resources including labour, materials and sub‑contractors.
• Lead a large multidisciplinary team to meet project deadlines and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and profitability targets.
• Oversee commissioning activities and report on construction progress.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager.
• Strong knowledge of the full design and construction process.
• Ability to control and manage people and programmes.
• Trade background or relevant higher‑education qualification.
• Proven record of coordinating and managing large projects.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Capability to drive large‑scale projects to successful completion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows operating system.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
• Experience with MS Project for planning and scheduling.
