Security Engineer – Build and Harden Infrastructure

About the role

As a Security Engineer at Namespace, you will own and strengthen security across our systems, network, and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with engineering and operations to identify vulnerabilities, build security measures, and embed security into our development and operational processes. The role focuses on proactive protection and rapid response to emerging threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build novel firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to protect servers, networks and systems.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, evaluating technologies and core systems for weaknesses.
• Develop security measures to quickly detect and respond to real‑time threats and vulnerabilities.
• Create security‑first guidelines and best practices for the entire organization.
• Work closely with operations, developers and other stakeholders to maintain a one‑team approach to security.
• Support the sales team with security questionnaires and technical security requirements from customers.

Required profile

• Strong security engineering fundamentals with hands‑on experience securing production infrastructure, systems and networks.
• Experience with network security, firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, vulnerability management, and threat detection and response.
• Ability to identify security risks and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of security best practices across modern cloud and infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to embed security into existing systems and workflows alongside engineering and operations teams.
• Bias toward execution and ownership in a fast‑moving environment.
