Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast‑growing AI‑focused team that is transforming the freight industry. Based in Switzerland and operating in a remote‑first environment, you will help design and build the next generation of AI‑powered backend systems that enable seamless collaboration between AI agents and human teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end backend problem spaces, from technical specifications to production delivery.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable services that integrate AI capabilities into real‑world workflows.
• Develop AI‑native product features that automate complex processes and convert unstructured data into actionable outputs.
• Implement monitoring, evaluation frameworks, confidence controls, and human‑review mechanisms for AI systems.
• Improve engineering productivity by introducing better specifications, tooling, and processes.
• Create self‑service tools and internal solutions using modern backend and frontend technologies.
• Maintain high engineering standards through testing, observability, metrics, tracing, alerts, and disciplined code reviews.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building backend applications with strong architectural expertise.
• Proven ability to work independently and make decisions that influence product direction.
• Comfortable collaborating remotely within an autonomous squad.
• Strong product judgment and a passion for AI‑enabled solutions.

Required skills

• SQL (data consistency, indexing, complex queries)
