Area Construction Manager

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking an experienced Area Construction Manager to lead construction activities across assigned scopes such as topsides, vessels, integration and brownfield projects. The role ensures delivery in line with HSSE, quality, schedule and budget requirements while coordinating closely with engineering, procurement and project management teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all construction activities within the designated area, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.
• Lead a team of construction professionals and subcontractors, fostering a strong safety culture.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
• Resolve technical issues, ensuring construction work meets design specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements and addressing concerns.
• Coordinate with yards, engineering, procurement and operations to ensure seamless integration.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and monitor compliance with HSSE regulations.
• Mentor the construction team, promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive, hands‑on construction and project‑management experience in the energy or related industry.
• Proven track record of delivering large‑scale construction projects on time and within budget.
• Strong leadership, risk‑management and commercial awareness.
