Associate Director, Medical Communications (Switzerland)

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Director of Medical Communications to lead the creation and delivery of high‑quality medical information for healthcare professionals, patients and internal partners across Switzerland and the Nordic hub. Based in Basel, you will ensure scientific accuracy, compliance and clarity in all communications while supporting global medical direction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update standard medical response documents, Q&As and custom response materials.
• Guide Medical Information call‑center colleagues on inquiry handling and response quality.
• Review promotional and medical materials for scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare country‑specific analytics from case trends and call volumes.
• Partner with Medical Director, Field Medical and Global Communications teams.
• Drive congress communication opportunities and contribute to local scientific communication strategy, including booth support.
• Maintain inspection‑ready records to support audits and health‑authority reviews.

Required profile

• PhD, MD or PharmD with at least 5 years of Medical Communications experience, including 3 years in Medical Information.
• Minimum 5 years in biotech/pharma (Medical Affairs, Clinical R&D or related fields).
• Advanced understanding of Switzerland’s healthcare regulatory environment and European medical information requirements (Swissmedic, Nordic).
• Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one of German, French or Italian.
• Ability to translate complex science for diverse audiences and own content end‑to‑end.
• Comfort advising others on medical information inquiry management and balancing multiple communication assets.
• Commitment to strong governance, quality processes, audit readiness and documentation.
• Agile, collaborative mindset with a willingness to connect across local, regional and global teams.
