Associate Director, Pediatric Clinical Research

About the role

The Associate Director of Pediatric Clinical Research leads all pediatric cancer clinical research activities at the Cancer Institute in Miami. This senior operational leader oversees early‑phase, investigator‑initiated, cooperative‑group, and sponsor‑driven trials, ensuring alignment with grant portfolios and scientific priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for pediatric clinical research operations across the Cancer Center.
• Align Cancer Center strategy, CORKK grant objectives, and physician priorities with operational execution.
• Direct study activation, portfolio management, accrual performance, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate Clinical Trials Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacy, Biostatistics, and Translational Science teams.
• Implement systems, workflows, and governance for high‑complexity early‑phase pediatric oncology trials.
• Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA, IRB, sponsor, and grant requirements; oversee regulatory strategy and audit preparedness.
• Own delivery of CORKK and Cancer Center grant milestones, reporting, and budget oversight.
• Lead workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for research staff.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in pediatric clinical research operations.
• Demonstrated ability to translate scientific priorities into structured, compliant research programs.
• Strong track record in grant and financial oversight for large research portfolios.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of accountability.
