Athlete Trainee Programme – 18‑Month Paid Traineeship

About the role

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) offers an 18‑month paid Athlete Trainee Programme in Lausanne. Designed exclusively for active or recently retired Olympians and elite athletes, the programme provides a structured pathway to transition from high‑performance sport to a professional career within the Olympic Movement.

Key responsibilities

• Complete three rotations across IOC departments, including Athletes & HR and a third department aligned with personal development goals.
• Contribute to ongoing projects, supporting day‑to‑day operations and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and deliver an individual final project that showcases learned skills and adds value to the IOC.
• Participate in a tailored learning and development programme, attending workshops and training sessions.

Required profile

• Current or former Olympian or elite athlete (priority to those still competing or recently retired).
• Fluent in English (C1 level or equivalent); French is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate to Lausanne and work full‑time for the full 18‑month period.
