Bioprocess Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Bioprocess Technician to join our scale‑up facility in Kemptthal, Switzerland. The technician will support cell‑culture production, bridging the gap between research‑scale experiments and industrial manufacturing for cultured foods and ingredients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, media, and consumables for upstream bioprocess runs.
• Set up, start, and monitor cell‑culture and fermentation batches in a GMP‑compliant clean‑room environment.
• Perform in‑process sampling, analytical measurements, and record critical process parameters.
• Document all activities in batch records and process logs according to GMP standards.
• Collaborate with bioprocess scientists, engineers, and quality teams to troubleshoot and optimise runs.
• Execute routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of bioreactors and ancillary equipment.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement and scale‑up projects.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with bioprocess operations such as cell culture and fermentation.
• Ability to work safely in controlled, clean‑room environments.
• Proficiency in accurate documentation and batch record keeping.
• Solid understanding of GMP principles and compliance.
• Technical education in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, life sciences or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness and ability to follow SOPs.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Previous experience in biomanufacturing, cell‑agriculture or pharmaceutical production is a plus.
