Business Development Director – Supply Chain Center of Excellence

About the role

Cognite is seeking a Business Development Director to lead growth of its Supply Chain Center of Excellence. You will win new supply‑chain business within your territory, leveraging Cognite Data Fusion and AI solutions to transform customers' value chains.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a territory strategy to accelerate bookings and secure high‑impact supply‑chain clients.
• Prospect and generate pipeline, providing commercial insights on supply‑chain optimization.
• Lead extended territory teams through complex enterprise sales cycles to exceed bookings targets.
• Quantify ROI and present business cases to C‑suite executives.
• Collaborate with partners on joint engagements and support deal negotiations.
• Work with product and marketing teams to feed market insights into product strategy.
• Maintain accurate forecasts and account records in Salesforce.com.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience in manufacturing or industrial supply‑chain environments.
• 7+ years of direct or support sales experience selling enterprise software/SaaS to C‑level executives.
• Proven track record meeting or exceeding SaaS bookings goals.
• Experience in high‑growth startup environments (Series A‑C).
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Required skills

• Deep domain expertise in complex supply‑chain operations for energy, manufacturing or utilities.
• Strategic value‑selling and ROI quantification.
• Enterprise software/SaaS sales, especially analytics, AI, Big Data, BI, ML.
• Familiarity with modern data ecosystems: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, BigQuery, data warehouses, machine learning tools.
• Proficiency with Salesforce.com for forecasting and account management.
