Category Buyer – Indirect Procurement (Marketing & Communications)

About the role

The International Olympic Committee is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join its Finance department as a Category Buyer. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end sourcing and procurement of indirect categories, primarily Marketing & Communications, supporting the Olympic Movement’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle for assigned categories, from intake through sourcing, award and onboarding.
• Act as a trusted business partner, providing guidance and hands‑on support to internal stakeholders.
• Proactively build and maintain a procurement pipeline, anticipating stakeholder needs.
• Lead high‑value, high‑risk sourcing activities, including competitive tenders and direct awards.
• Conduct commercial negotiations to secure optimal value and mitigate risk.
• Oversee purchase‑to‑pay processes in SAP, supplier setup, contract review and approval.
• Produce accurate procurement reporting and ensure compliance with IOC governance and responsible procurement principles.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or category management, preferably in indirect spend.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while adhering to governance and compliance standards.
• Commitment to the Olympic values and the vision of building a better world through sport.
