Category Buyer – Procurement (Marketing & Communications)

About the role

The International Olympic Committee is seeking an experienced Category Buyer to manage end‑to‑end sourcing and procurement for indirect categories, primarily Marketing & Communications. You will act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance, commercial value and responsible procurement practices.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement engagements from intake through sourcing, supplier award and onboarding for assigned categories.
• Provide guidance and hands‑on support to internal stakeholders throughout the procurement process.
• Lead high‑value, high‑risk sourcing activities, including competitive tenders and direct awards.
• Conduct commercial negotiations and supplier discussions to secure optimal value and mitigate risk.
• Oversee purchase‑to‑pay activities in SAP, supplier setup, contract review and approval.
• Perform spend and supplier analysis, delivering insights and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or category management, preferably in indirect spend.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, policies and responsible procurement principles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, international environment.
