Chemistry Teacher (Grades 8‑12) – International Section

About the role

The Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz, an international boarding school in the Engadin valley, is seeking a Chemistry Teacher for its Department of International Studies. The position starts immediately, with an 85% workload, and involves teaching students from Grades 8 to 12.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Chemistry to Grades 8‑12 within the International Section, covering Cambridge IGCSE Double Award Science and the IB Diploma Programme.
• Contribute actively to the school’s extra‑curricular programme through leadership or participation in clubs and events.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment design, and interdisciplinary projects.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in professional development and support the growth of the department and the school.

Required profile

• University degree in Chemistry.
• Recognised teaching qualification.
• IBDP teaching experience (essential).
• IGCSE teaching experience (preferred).
• Swiss/EU/EFTA citizenship is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of international education standards and inquiry‑based teaching methods.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a multicultural environment.
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, challenging, and inclusive learning environment.
