Client Onboarding KYC Specialist (80%)

About the role

LGT, the world’s largest family‑owned private banking and asset management group, is seeking a Client Onboarding KYC Specialist to join its Geneva team. Working as part of the Business Risk Management function, you will act as the first line of defence for relationship managers, ensuring robust due‑diligence and compliance during client onboarding and ongoing reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct onboarding and ongoing KYC reviews, identifying money‑laundering, reputational, ESR and other risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Serve as the primary contact for relationship managers on due‑diligence, AML, and complex client‑structure queries, providing guidance on account openings and tax plausibility checks.
• Prepare, review, assess and update client profiles, coordinating additional checks with specialist departments when needed.
• Educate and mentor junior colleagues on best practices in 1st Line Risk Management, AML, KYC and due‑diligence processes.
• Stay current with regulatory changes and apply this knowledge to improve internal processes.

Required profile

• Completed commercial apprenticeship or university degree in Business Administration, Law, Economics or related field.
• Experience in Business Risk Management, Compliance, Audit or a similar 1st LoD role within financial services.
• Proven track record of identifying, assessing and mitigating risks while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Fluent in written and spoken French and English; additional languages such as Arabic are a plus.
