Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

As a member of the Infrastructure and Security team you will own the design, implementation and maintenance of Optravis’ cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with software development teams to deliver scalable, cost‑efficient solutions while ensuring security and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Take responsibility for a defined portfolio of products and internal systems, including the main Azure subscription.
• Own and improve the operational lifecycle of assets – scheduled controls, maintenance and recovery exercises.
• Design, build and maintain clean, efficient, reliable, tested and compliant infrastructure components.
• Apply least‑privilege, secure configuration, protected secrets and audit logging in everyday engineering decisions.
• Implement and operate technical controls, maintain evidence and resolve findings with the security/compliance lead.
• Scout for and experiment with new technologies.

Required profile

• MSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship (no visa sponsorship).
• Experience building and operating production infrastructure (networking, identity management, storage, monitoring, containerisation).
• Strong troubleshooting across applications, containers, operating systems and networks.
• Practical security judgment and ability to evaluate technologies and costs.

Required skills

• Azure (Container Apps, Front Door/WAF, managed identities, managed PostgreSQL).
• Infrastructure‑as‑code: Bicep (Terraform experience welcome).
• Git, code reviews and automated testing.
• CI/CD pipelines, observability and automated security checks.
• Google Cloud basics.
• Kotlin/Java or collaboration with JVM backend teams.
• Working in ISO 27001 or ISAE 3402 environments.
