Cloud Software Engineer – Java / GCP

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Software Engineer with strong Java and Google Cloud Platform expertise to join Lemza’s engineering team for a long‑term enterprise project in Switzerland. The role involves close collaboration with Lemza engineers and the client’s technology teams to design, develop, and operate modern, highly scalable cloud‑native applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain cloud‑native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Own reliable deployment and operation of complex application environments.
• Monitor and maintain critical integrations and data flows between systems.
• Contribute to software architecture, technical design decisions, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, ArgoCD).
• Implement high engineering standards through automated testing, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate coding and productivity.
• Participate in agile ceremonies using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.

Required profile

• Several years of professional Java development experience.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of Spring Boot and microservice architectures.
• Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Experience with testing, application monitoring, and production‑grade environments.
• Professional use of AI‑assisted coding tools.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
