Cloud System Administrator

About the role

As a Cloud System Administrator at BBVA, you will ensure that our Microsoft Azure environments are resilient, secure, and highly available. You will work closely with cloud, infrastructure, and engineering teams to automate deployments and maintain operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Cloud Engineers, DevOps, and Network teams to deliver automated Azure deployments following CI/CD best practices.
• Administer Azure‑based solutions, including automation, patching, monitoring, and remediation of applications.
• Assess existing monitoring, propose improvements, and design automated deployment and observability solutions.
• Maintain end‑to‑end connectivity across systems, ensuring network configurations are up to date.
• Keep servers, applications, and platform components aligned with patching and lifecycle policies.
• Maintain accurate inventories of ICT infrastructure and applications.
• Provide hands‑on support throughout the project lifecycle: design, build, deployment, configuration, and operations.
• Validate reliability configurations and produce technical evidence for compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands‑on experience administering Microsoft Azure environments.
• Ability to read, understand, and challenge technical designs and architectures.
• Excellent command of English and Spanish (German a plus).

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure administration and monitoring.
• Azure networking: VNets, subnets, routing, NSGs, Azure Firewall, private and service endpoints, hybrid connectivity.
• Azure identity and access management, authentication, authorization, privileged access.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.
• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
• Automation, patch management, and lifecycle governance.
• Cloud monitoring: logs, metrics, alerts.
