Commodity Buyer – Strategic Procurement

About the role

The Commodity Buyer will define and execute purchasing strategies for assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with company objectives and continuous improvement of supply chain processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy purchasing strategies, analysing supplier markets, cost trends, industrial capabilities and technological developments.
• Identify, assess and select new suppliers based on technical, commercial, quality and logistical criteria, building strong relationships.
• Anticipate and mitigate risks related to capacity, supplier dependency, raw materials and geopolitical factors.
• Negotiate and implement framework agreements and commercial contracts, challenging price‑increase requests.
• Monitor portfolio performance indicators such as costs, savings, quality, on‑time delivery, lead times, capacity and risk.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Economics or equivalent with solid technical understanding and purchasing qualifications.
• More than 3 years of experience in project purchasing or strategic procurement.
• Fluent in English and French and/or German.
• Strong team player, resilient, flexible, reliable and able to work autonomously under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced use of MS Office.
• Proficiency with SharePoint.
• Familiarity with Infor ERP system.
