Compliance Director – Europe Tier 1 & Canada

About the role

The Compliance Director provides pragmatic, business‑focused guidance to Edwards’ commercial, medical and marketing teams across Europe’s Tier 1 markets (Germany, France, UK/Ireland) and Canada. Acting as the primary compliance point of contact for one EU Business Unit, the role ensures alignment with local healthcare laws, anti‑kickback statutes and industry standards while supporting sustainable business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with country teams, business units and functional leaders to embed compliance into daily operations.
• Develop and implement regional compliance strategies, balancing regulatory requirements with commercial objectives.
• Drive optimisation of HCP‑related policies, processes and systems, identifying gaps and proposing practical solutions.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert on anti‑kickback regulations and local compliance programmes.
• Lead risk assessments, monitor adherence to policies, and support remediation and investigations.
• Participate in compliance committees and ensure strong governance across EMEACLA and Global Compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in compliance, regulatory affairs or legal functions within the healthcare or medical‑device sector.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a strategic business partner and influence senior leadership.
• Strong understanding of European and Canadian healthcare laws, ABAC regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with Legal, HR, Finance, Internal Audit and Regulatory teams.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of anti‑kickback (ABAC) regulations.
• Expertise in developing and implementing compliance policies and risk‑assessment frameworks.
• Ability to analyse complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business guidance.
