Compliance Trainer – Affordable Housing

About the role

Conifer Realty is seeking a Compliance Trainer to empower onsite and corporate teams in affordable housing compliance. You will simplify complex regulations, develop engaging learning experiences, and travel to communities across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver compliance training programs covering LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, HOME, PBRA, Rural Development, HOTMA, Fair Housing, and related topics.
• Lead onboarding and ongoing training for new hires, community managers, regional leaders, and corporate staff.
• Support lease‑up training for new affordable housing communities in partnership with operations.
• Create training guides, videos, LMS modules, and job aids to improve knowledge retention.
• Deliver virtual, hybrid, and in‑person sessions and update materials promptly after regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Property Management teams to identify knowledge gaps and provide targeted coaching during audits and monitoring visits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Education, Organizational Development, Counseling, or a related field.
• 3+ years of affordable housing compliance experience (LIHTC, HUD, HOME, PBRA, Rural Development, etc.).
• 1–2 years of experience training, coaching, or facilitating adult learners.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local affordable housing regulations.
• Industry certifications such as HCCP, COS, or TCS preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Willingness to travel 10–30%, including short‑notice trips.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Yardi and Yardi Aspire.
• Experience using SharePoint.
• Experience using Microsoft Teams.
